JETS!

Wait a minute! What did that sign say?!

Woo hoo! Oh please, pleeeeze... could I have a ride?!!?!?

Oh ya! That's really me in the very jet used to train Prince Charles...

And that's my own personal trainer, Colonel Brian Childs, who I've met since joining the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary (a/k/a Civil Air Patrol)

Colonel Childs took me up for a Sunday afternoon fly down in Brazoria County.

Here he is getting ready to start it up, and my right-side view of the cockpit:

And here we are, ready to taxi, soon as he closes the canopy - notice I'm all smiles :

Up, up and away!

Oh man, what a ride!!!

I had such a blast! Col. Childs let me take control as we flew around the area. Had to stay around 2,000' because of clouds but it was a great introduction to the jet! I can get a type rating in this jet, which I may want to do after I finish my instrument and commercial.

And too soon it was time to come down. Here I am, taxiing back to the hangar - yes, that's me taxiing :)

Oh ya! See that smile? A big thanks to Col. Childs for the opportunity to fly - and log the time in my logbook, and Barry the D.O.M. (Director of Maintenance), for keeping the plane in good order and taking pictures, and son, Barry, Jr., for helping out with pictures and everything else.
