Winners!

The following poem was written by our niece, Misty, and entered in the KSBJ Father's Day contest. This poem was a winner and was read on the air to her dad, our brother-in-law, Kurt. Kurt adopted Misty when she was very young.

My Daddy

I respect him for his love and affection
For he is just a glimmer of God's AWESOME perfection
He loved me from the beginning you see
For he chose to adopt little ole' me

He said it was the cute little baby to blame
He gave me his name and his heart just the same
He has loved and adored me back from day one
The memories we've created, it's been so much fun

He raised me as if I belong
And all these years he has been oh so strong
God gave him guidelines and a child to raise
What a job he's done, he deserves such great praise

When the day came to give me away
His heart was breaking saying baby please stay
Just two short years later a grandpa was he
We knew what a great 'Pawpaw' he'd be

I cannot say Thank you enough
For what you've supplied is more then just stuff
I'm honored you chose me from the start
I love you, daddy, with all of my heart
You've been terrific, such a wonderful man
I'm grateful you took your part in His plan.

Congratulations, Misty, Kurt, and Reba!
