Myles

Update as of Thursday morning:

Myles was admitted to Riley Children's Hospital through emergency late Sunday night. He hadn't been eating well, had been very lethargic and the mouth sores were getting worse.

They sedated him for a biopsy of his mouth sores and ran a test for histoplasmosis; both tests came back negative.

This morning a bone marrow aspirate was done to check for bone marrow cancer. If this test returns negative then the doctors will make the assumption that he has an autoimmune disease (in addition to SCID, cancer, arthritis, and asthma) and will add another medication to his regimen, Prednozone, which should help with that.

While he's been under the influence of the morphine and other pain killers from this morning's bone marrow aspirate, Angie has been able to get him to eat quite a bit. He ate two waffles and a banana with milk - because he wasn't feeling any pain. When the drugs wear off he may have a tummy ache, but Angie is happy that he ate.

Yesterday's CT scan showed nothing new, tumors are about the same size, maybe slightly smaller; fever is gone but his blood count continues to drop and the doctors aren't sure why, so this is a concern.

Our human bodies are so fragile and it is normal to want to cling to them because we live in this world of five senses. With the constant elevated stress of missing my family in heaven and little Myles constantly battling attacks on his health and seeing Angie suffer helplessly, the hurricane, the lack of electricity, the failed septic system, temporary displacement of living quarters, none of it means a thing. It is each other we want to cling to and depend on. Those who are there for us are a comfort beyond imagination.

Hey Linda,

I am most certainly praying for you in these times that seem so uncertain and unsteady. Dad gave me some papers today, it was a sermon that was printed from Max Lucado's website. I wanted to pass on the link for all that are interested. It has a lot to do with what you said about being concerned about one another and God talking to us admist our circumstances, no matter how awful they might be. I love you and hope to see you sooner rather than later. Please tell Rusty I am trying to make it down to Liberty for another one of those steaks and to hang out too of course! haha Be blessed and know you are highly favored among all others!
