Air Race Classic 2009 - Post #2

June 6 was the date to meet in Lufkin for the painting of the Compass Rose. In preparation for the Air Race (Lufkin is Stop #3), the Ninety-Nines Houston Chapter and EAA Chapter 1219 members, about 35 folks in all, spent several hours in the hot South Texas sun, measuring, drawing chalk lines, and painting the 60-foot Compass Rose, with the 99s symbol in the center.

I look forward to seeing our friends from Lufkin when we make this stop.
