Mycol's Shelf

A few years ago Mycol built a shelf for me. It was a gift of love. We designed it together to fit exactly on a certain wall in the living room of our Kingwood home. When we sold that house we told the buyers they could keep the shelf. Although I did not want to part with it, it fit that house and would not have had a place where we were going.

The couple who bought our Kingwood house have told me over the past three and a half years that they considered that my shelf and that I could have it. A gift again.

Yesterday Rusty, Kurt, and Bryan set aside a couple of hours to bring Mycol's shelf to my house in Liberty. A gift again. It now stands facing the framed photograph of a castle in Denmark, one which Mycol took when we were there in 1994.

When Mycol installed the shelf in our Kingwood living room he told me this was a gift for many occasions because it was a lot of work and took him a long time to build. Seems to me it continues to be a gift, and I thank Jeff and Jennifer for giving it to me, and Rusty, Kurt, and Bryan for tackling the big job of moving it.
