News from Roanoke - My great aunt Teen, who will be 92 later this year, underwent a surgical procedure this morning to figure out why she was getting abdominal pain after eating. She tolerated the procedure well and the doctor found two blocked arteries out of three that feed the groin/abdominal area. The doctor placed a stint in one artery only (the one that leads to the colon) and he thinks that is what was causing her pain....if she still has pain then he will go in and fix the other one.
She will probably be released today unless complications arise, but things are looking good. She must remain lying flat for a few hours and then they can raise her head up a little.
When I was there visiting last week I saw how much pain she was in after eating. We are all so glad they found something....hopefully this is it.
