A Letter from Patty Wagstaff

Patty is a well known aerobatic champion. I wrote her for some advice, as I am uncertain what direction to go in aviation. She wrote back a very nice, encouraging letter, which I think is kinda cool. You can see her site at www.pattywagstaff.com.

Dear Linda

I think it's just great that you have gotten into flying and are pursuing your ratings. As you have discovered, flying can give you so much. It gave me a sense of mission, discipline and focus that I never had before. I feel that I've been very lucky to choose flying as a career.

As far as pursuing aerobatics, you are definitely not too old! There is no age limit in aerobatics. In fact, it might even be an advantage. Aerobatics just take practice and the desire to do it. You've chosen a great school to go to, so you're off to a good start.

I think as far as mentors go, you will meet many people along the way who will help you. You will have a lot of mentors. I hope you consider getting into competition aerobatics. You'll find a great group of people who will help you along the way.

Hope this is helpful. Best of luck!

Patty Wagstaff
